The criticism has rained down on networks to Andrés Manuel López Obrador, president of Mexico and not only for his response to the coronavirus pandemic. This time the fury of Twitter users has been awakened by the emergence of a video that shows just the moment in which the Mexican president stops on his visit to the municipality of Badiraguato - the birthplace of Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán Loera - to reverently greet his mom.

The clip shows the 66-year-old president who, escorted by a large group of people, walks to a white van where María del Consuelo Loera Pérez, mother of the Sinaloa boss, currently imprisoned in a maximum security prison "Supermax" of Florence in Colorado.

"I only greet you, don't get off," AMLO chivalrously says to the matron. "I already received your letter," continues the 66-year-old president squeezing both hands. "Yes, yes, yes, I already received your letter," exclaims the president before returning to the vehicle that was waiting for him.

Journalistic sources indicated that the president born in Chiapas would be in Sinaloan territory to publicize the program Sowing Life to Badiraguato with which 25,000 hectares of legal crops would be planted to generate about 10,000 jobs.

But the sharp eyes of the network did not hesitate to point out that AMLO's visit to the Sinalos mountains coincides precisely with the birthday of Ovidio Guzmán, one of El Chapo's sons. Ovid was monopolized in 2019 after his spectacular capture attempt, which was repelled by his henchmen - and one of his brothers - and which demonstrated that power in the streets remains in the hands of the Sinaloa cartel.

After the emergence of the video journalists, AMLO questioned at the airport to seek comments regarding his meeting with Doña Consuelo and about the alleged letter that she mentions in the video. He refuses to answer:

According to the Mexican magazine Proceso, the events occurred this Sunday afternoon at the crossroads of the road from Badiraguato to Culiacán.

Said source assures that the letter to which mention is made is a letter sent by Consuelo Loera asking the president to help him get a humanitarian visa to visit his son in the federal prison where he has been since 2019 to serve his sentence to life imprisonment.
