Police in Washington arrested a woman and 16-year-old girl on Friday for allegedly pretending to be child photographers and drugging a mother to steal her baby, PEOPLE reported.

Juliette Parker, 38, was arrested and charged with assault and attempted kidnapping, KHQ reported. The teenager was also arrested and taken to a juvenile detention center. Parker was released from prison after paying a nickel bond obtained by PEOPLE.

The mother told authorities that she had met Parker on a Facebook page for mothers of newborn children, where Parker announced that she was taking free photos of newborn babies to display in her portfolio and gain experience as a photographer.

Parker allegedly went to the mother's house three times. "The suspect was observed taking selfies on a cell phone with the victim's baby and was seen erasing her fingerprints from various items that she touched at the victim's home," added the authorities statement.

At the end of the last photo shoot with mom and baby, the arrested teenager allegedly gave the mother a cupcake. The mother told police that after eating the candy, she began to feel dizzy and numb. The mother allegedly asked him to leave and realized that the keys to her house had been taken. Police suspect Parker's plan was to steal the newborn to raise her as her son. Authorities revealed that other mothers told similar stories about the fake photographer.

Police request that any mother who has been contacted by a photographer named "Juliette Parker," "Juliette Noel" or "Juliette Gains" call detectives investigating the case at 253-798-7724.
