Vanessa Bryant Reappears On Instagram

Vanessa Bryant sent her first message after the tragic death of her husband Kobe Bryant and daughter Gianna along with seven other people in a helicopter accident last Sunday in Calabasas, California.

The now widow of the NBA star decided to make her Instagram account public and changed her profile image, which is now a photo of her husband and daughter taken in the 2016 NBA stars game that was played in Toronto, Ontario.

So far, Bryant does not allow his followers to comment on his account, nor has he shared any text. Hanging the photo for everyone to see is for now her only message as she mourns the painful loss her family has suffered.

Kobe was 21 years old when he met Vanessa, then 17, in 1999. They got engaged six months later and were married on April 18, 2001. Two years later they welcomed their first daughter, Natalia, and Gianna in 2006.

The couple had a hard time when the athlete was accused in 2003 of rape by a 19-year-old employee of a Colorado hotel where he was staying. Bryant admitted that they had had sex, but noted that they had been consensual. The case never went to court, and the parties settled.

Another critical moment in their relationship occurred in December 2011, when Vanessa announced that the couple was divorcing due to irreconcilable differences. Thirteen months later they resolved their differences and after the player retired from the NBA, the couple had two other daughters: Bianka in 2016 and Capri in 2019.
