After being in the third place of the Miss Universe contest, Sofía Aragón, the representative of Mexico, now analyzes the changes that this renowned beauty pageant is having. The model ensures that there are signs that it is being modernized.
“Miss Universe has changed a lot over the years; Before, we were looking for a woman who was more of a model, who was a spectacular woman who was ready to appear on all the covers of all magazines, "Aragón told the Mexican radio program Adela (Heraldo Radio) told me. "Miss Universe has also had this progress and now we are looking for a woman who has a message, who has content, who is able to really sit down at the table with whoever she is and have a conversation."
According to the also businesswoman, the current winner of this contest, Zozibini Tunzi, is an example of that openness because it represents just the opposite of standards in contests of this nature.
“It was demonstrated this past Sunday, a woman [Zozibini Tunzi] that nobody put on their tops because she breaks all the stereotypes and that is what I like the most. In that moment that she won I said 'good because she continues to break those stigmata,'”he revealed. "She broke all the stereotypes of beauty, yes, however, she has so much to contribute to society that she will be one of the most successful Miss Universe."
For Sofía Aragón, the changes in the Miss Universe pageant are a natural step in the evolution that is taking place in society and with women themselves.
"All the movement that we women have achieved and with all this social progress," she warned. “The woman is not her beauty; She has a lot to give, she is a very complete being, full of talent, full of qualities and with a strong voice.”
