Two months after finding the body of a two-year-old girl in a park in Pennsylvania, driver Sharena Nancy, 25, was charged with the murder of little Nalani Johnson. The authorities confirmed to PEOPLE that Nancy was accused of the murder of the girl, who is the daughter of the alleged lover of the driver. The woman also faces charges for desecrating the child's corpse.

Nalani was reported missing on August 31 and her remains were found three days later in a public park in Blairsville. A few hours earlier, police arrested Nancy, initially accusing her of kidnapping the girl and hiding information about her whereabouts.

During the investigation, detectives revealed that the girl's father had had a romantic relationship with Nancy in the months leading up to the baby's kidnapping and murder.

The girl's father assured police that he was riding as a passenger with his daughter in a car that had Uber and Lyft decals driven by Nancy. The man was with the girl and a friend in the car and when the two men got out, the driver fled with the baby in the car, kidnapping the girl.

The father informed the police that he tried to call Nancy but she did not answer him. The driver was arrested but there was no trace of the girl until she was found dead. The driver allegedly told authorities that the girl's father had asked her to take Nalani to an individual to whom the father had allegedly sold the girl for $ 10,000. The woman claimed that she had left the girl with a person who had a silver van with out-of-state license plates and was gone. Nancy is in jail awaiting her trial.
