A 13-year-old Brazilian teenager is accused of stabbing her pregnant sister to steal the baby she carried in her womb. According to The Sun, the young woman killed her sister Fabiana Santana, 23, in cold blood, also hitting her with a steel tube, to steal her son and give it to another woman. The teenager also allegedly drowned her 7-year-old nephew Gustavo, throwing him into a river and stoning him, because the boy tried to save his mother from the brutal attack.
"This is a crime that has shocked even the most experienced police officers because there is evidence that it was premeditated," police chief Leisaloma Carvalho told the newspaper. The young woman told authorities that she had committed the crime for revenge, since she accused her sister's husband of sexually abusing her, and her sister of not believing her and treating her badly.
The accused young woman planned to give her newborn nephew to another woman, Catia Rabelo, 35, who had pretended to be pregnant so that her partner would not abandon her. According to authorities, Rabelo's son, a 15-year-old boy, helped the teenager kill her sister and nephew. Authorities found the baby alive, under the care of Rabelo's son. The newborn is receiving medical care at a local hospital. Both teens are in jail and face double murder charges.
