Upon learning that her husband was unfaithful to her, a woman reacted by killing his lover and then committing suicide. Jennair Gerardot put a device on her husband Mark Gerardot's car to detect her location and also hid microphones in her clothes to listen to the conversations he had with other people when he was not with her. The 49-year-old woman had been married to her husband for 24 years when he met 33-year-old Meredith Chapman, who became her lover.

A new episode of the 20/20 program tells the tragic story. The wife - who had expressed her insecurities to her husband when noticing that he no longer found her attractive - put on a wig and traveled by train to Meredith's house. The woman, who was armed, broke the glass of the door to enter the house and waited for Meredith to arrive to shoot her to death. Jennair was later killed, according to police.

Mark arrived at his lover's house too late and found the police inside the house, examining the bodies of Meredith and his wife. Police revealed the wife was seeking revenge, according to her text messages and emails.

According to Mark, he was attending therapy with his wife to achieve a friendly divorce and had plans to continue his love relationship with Meredith when the crime happened. "I broke his heart," Mark laments about his wife on the ABC show. "I feel guilty for making her feel like she had no choice."
