A Miami Dolphins player suffered a terrible car accident in which he lost his left arm.
The representative for Kendrick Norton, 22, confirmed that his client's arm was amputated on Thursday.
"Sadly, I can confirm that Kendrick Norton was in a car accident last night and suffered multiple injuries, including the amputation of his arm," Malki Kawa wrote on Twitter.
"We ask that you continue to pray for him," the post continues. "His family also asks that the public respect Kendrick's privacy."
The crash occurred Thursday morning shortly after 1 am
Norton, who was driving a van, hit a concrete barrier and overturned, the Sun Sentinel reports. One of Norton's arms was caught under the truck, which landed facedown on the roof.
Two other passengers were injured in the accident, the newspaper reports.
All the wounded were rushed to a nearby hospital. Said publication reports that Norton is in critical condition, however, none of his injuries are considered life-threatening.
A prominent athlete who started his career playing on the University of Miami team, Norton was selected in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL draft by the Carolina Panthers, where he spent most of his first season in the practice squad. before signing a contract with the Miami Dolphins.
The team posted a message on Twitter saying: “This morning we were informed of a serious car accident involving Kendrick Norton. Our thoughts and prayers are with Kendrick and his family during this time."
