Jeremy Richman, the father of one of the 20 children who lost their lives in the Sandy Hook elementary school massacre - which occurred on December 12 in Newtown, Connecticut - was found dead Monday on suspicion of an apparent suicide.
The body of the 49-year-old man - and father of the late Avielle Richman - was found lifeless at his Edmond Town Hall residence by elements of the Newtown police and fire department around 7:00 am
"When the paramedics arrived they found Jeremy Richan, 49, dead," explained the local police Facebook page. "His death appears to be suicide, but the police have not disclosed the method and none of the details of his death, only his death has been said to appear to be suspicious." Now the case has passed to the state coroner to determine the causes of death.

“This is an event that breaks the soul of the Richman family and the Newtown community in general. Our prayers for the family are going right now, and we ask that the family be given privacy at this difficult time,”Lt. Aaron Bahamonde said in remarks reproduced by the New York Post.
Richman established the Avielle Foundation, a nonprofit organization that sought to reduce gun violence and which was based in a Newtown town hall building.
The deceased and his wife were part of a group of parents who sued broadcaster Alex Jones for unleashing a series of false conspiracy theories to claim that the massacre was a farce invented by the government.
The sad and bloody episode caused the closure and demolition of the school, which in July 2016 and under total reconstruction, reopened its doors.
