Nacho Mendoza, a renowned critic of the regime of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, announced that he is returning to his country on December 27 after spending a long time without stepping on his land.

I really want to go back and I am going to do it, because I feel it is good to want to work for my country. There is nothing wrong with that. It is just what I think we need, people willing to contribute positive things beyond the circumstances. I do not want to detach myself from my roots and understand well that I love with all my heart all the countries of Latin America,”said the singer in videos that he posted on his networks.

Especially to all those who have received me treating me as if I had been born there, as a brother and without distinctions … But not for that distinction I have stopped worshiping my beautiful Venezuela … I keep on missing her and feeling the need to see her recovered”, he added.

Nacho affirms that what brings him back to his homeland is the desire to work to alleviate the serious economic situation he is going through, with a great shortage of products and astronomical inflation. “I am ready to return to my homeland. I was wrong in the video, I said January 27 but it is this December 27 that I will land at the Arturo Michelena International Airport in the city of Valencia with the company of God and my team. We are going for a better Venezuela”.

Mendoza asked for tolerance from the Maduro government, which has been very critical in the past. "I am going with good intentions," he affirmed and reiterated that he wants to put the resources at his disposal to improve the country's economic situation to "lift Venezuela."

So he called on the authorities not to prevent him from accessing his country, nor harass him once he arrives. “Please, I ask the government for respect, tolerance and kindness during my stay. And I also ask that together we avoid inconveniences that only add fuel to a fire that has singed the spirit of the Venezuelan for years. I want to move freely through the territory that, by right, also belongs to me,”he added.

The artist's problems with the authorities date back to the fall of 2017, when immigration agents removed his passport. It had to be thanks to gestures by the Colombian immigration authorities that he was able to return to the United States. Nacho went two months without being able to see his family.

Today, Nacho pointed out that his goal is to transmit joy and work over political differences. "Enough discord and confrontations," he said. "I will land in Valencia, Venezuela, on any consequence, wanting to be part of one of the changes that we need so much."
