The star Emilia Martell killed herself in the offices of the National Association of Actors (ANDA) of Mexico, according to the Mexican radio program Todo para la Mujer (Radio Formula).
The events occurred last Tuesday, when the actress also appeared at the Social Welfare department, where she asked to speak to the doctor on duty, who asked her if a woman her age, 72, could donate her organs. The doctor replied that it was not appropriate; then Martell withdrew and went to the bathroom.
The vedette remained in the sanitary room for a long time; but since someone else wanted to use it too, she sensed something was wrong. An employee, named Luis Javier Flores, opened the toilet and found the ex-histrion hanged with a scarf owned by him.
Arlette Pacheco, who had had contact with the now-deceased, previously mentioned that Martell had been diagnosed with cancer, which worried him greatly because she lived in Guadalajara, Jalisco and did not have the financial resources or adequate means to carry carry out the corresponding treatment.
However, ANDA's Secretary for Social Security, Cynthia Klitbo, wanted to end the speculation and denied that the woman was ill.
"Regarding the death of our colleague Emilia Martell, she clarified that she was not poorly cared for, did not suffer from cancer, the lady came to collect her pension, and the lady decided to kill herself," Klitbo explained in a video that was uploaded to his Instagram account. "Rather in an act of trust, so that we could find her body immediately, she left a posthumous letter, that we take charge of all her funeral services and that is just what we are doing."
