After legally proving that he is the biological son of Julio Iglesias, Javier Sánchez Santos has filed a paternity suit against the singer in a court in Valencia, Spain, according to the Spanish newspaper El País.

The 40-year-old man is the product of the alleged relationship between the singer and a Portuguese dancer named María Edite Santos, who, since the birth of his son in 1975, assured that paternity corresponded to the interpreter of "I forgot to live"

The relationship could finally be verified, thanks to the DNA analyzes carried out on 15 objects that were obtained by two detectives in Miami, where a 99.9 percent coincidence between the Iglesias and Sánchez genes is verified. Given this, the latter decided to take legal action, after an earlier attempt by his mother.

"The decision came from a message my mother gave me," he explained. “My mother told me that Fernando [Osuna] had managed to win a filiation case similar to mine, Manuel's. I thought about it for a few days, wondering if I wanted to do it again or not. The fact that I was the one who was going to look for the evidence to bring it to justice, without trying to reopen the case before, encouraged me to take it forward.”
