In another strange case of child neglect, a Pennsylvania man left his three young children alone, one of them in a kind of cage, so that he could visit his girlfriend in hospital. Upon his return, the police were waiting for him and charged him with three charges for endangering the welfare of a minor, among other things.
According to People, last week the state police responded to a call related to children's well-being. When the officers arrived, they found three infants completely alone, with no one to supervise them: a girl just 1 day old, was on a seat; a little one-year-old was in a playpen and one more, 22 months old, was in a kind of cage.
The creatures' father, Cecil Gene Kutz, allegedly told investigators that on other occasions he had kept his children in that cage and that on Wednesday he had left them there to visit their mother - his girlfriend - who was in the hospital, as she suffered some complications after giving birth to the youngest of them in her own home. It was precisely the doctors who treated her who alerted the police to see that she had arrived without the creature she had just had.
However, the children's mother, Tiffany George, defended the accused, stating that the place where she had her 22-month-old son locked up was not a cage, but a kind of crib. She also emphasized that they are not "bad parents" and that their children were never in danger.
It is unclear if the police will press charges against her as well.
