The family of the Mexican actor Alfredo Adame suffered a serious traffic accident that forced the entry into the intensive care unit of his wife, the actress Mary Paz Banquells, and two of his children, Diego and Sebastián Adame.
The first information from the Mexican media indicated that the family was in serious condition after the vehicle in which they were traveling between Mexico City and León, Guanajuato overturned.
Fortunately, the actor confirmed on Monday morning that the family is already out of danger. "Yes, it was a tremendous accident, it was very, very bulky," he told the television program Sale el Sol.
'They were coming to a convention,' he explained about the reason for the trip. “Diego has a comic book store. They left Mexico at 3:00 in the morning.”
The actor, who has a third child who did not travel with his siblings, said the truck Diego was driving seemed to have some mechanical problems, although it had been checked before leaving.
"Unfortunately" the repairs did not go well and "arriving in León, suddenly, on a piece of road that was being repaired, a very loud thunder was heard and the truck sank," he added.
Mary Paz Banquells is the sister of Rocío Banquells and a half-sister of Sylvia Pasquel, daughter of actress Silvia Pinal.
Sebastián, who was sleeping in the back of the truck and without his seat belt on, was the one who got the most out of his way, his father revealed. "He flew off, smashed the windshield, and was [four] to five meters from the truck lying on the asphalt."
“Immediately the doctor spoke to me, we already did CT scans. There is no [brain] damage, "said Adame, who noted that Diego has" a fracture "in his head" that should not have consequences."
Banquells suffered a broken clavicle and a dislocated wrist. "They are badly beaten."
The actor is currently recording the novel The Double Life of Estela Carrillo, with Ariadne Díaz and David Zepeda.
