Woman Tells Her Life With Two Vaginas

Nicole felt like a weird human being, although the situation that made her different is quite unusual, though not unique.

In a revealing interview with the BBC, the young American told what it is like to live with two pages and two wombs, and why she finally chose to remove them despite the sacrifice that this meant for her family.

"I found out that she had two vaginas when she was 17 years old," said Nicci, as friends call her, who did not reveal her last name. "I realized something was wrong because I started bleeding more than I thought it should."

“The pain was intolerable, when I had my period it couldn't work and I went to the doctor complaining about excessive bleeding. That's when the doctor revealed to me that I actually had two vaginas and two uteruses."

"My periods lasted between 7 and 28 days. On one occasion I bled for about six months, with a brief pause of a day or two. Sometimes I wore two pants because tampons and sanitary pads were not enough, "she said. "This condition severely affected my relationships with boyfriends and friends."

Almost 20 years ago she met Andy, with whom she has been married for 3 years.

"I can't imagine what she went through, because I'm not a woman, but she could give me an idea because I saw the after effects of [her period]," said the husband. "Nicci is very strong, I admire her for having been through all this and I hardly imagine how hard it was for her."

Cases of women in this situation have been reported throughout the world, and on some occasions they even allow women to become mothers. Something that was very troublesome for Nicole.

I had three miscarriages. When you want to get pregnant and you can't, you can get desperate. (…) I have lived through very dark stages. It is a reality that leaves you without energy,”said the girl between tears, who recognized that at times she did not“want to live”anymore.

Her physical and emotional torture led her to the point of asking the doctors to remove the double organ that had given her so much trouble. “The doctor who operated on me has been wonderful, she realized that I couldn't take it anymore and she agreed to do the procedure. Now I have a normal vagina,”said Nicole, who now hopes to adopt children later.
