Brian and Courtney Halye, an Ohio couple has starred in one of the scariest stories in recent memory. The couple appeared dead last Thursday and it was their four children who found them lifeless. When they saw that Mom and Dad were not waking them up to go to school, they decided to go to the room.

The panorama they found was bleak. Although the toxicology result, which will take four to six weeks, has yet to wait, authorities point to heroin as a possible culprit in the death, the NBC channel reports.

The couple's 13-year-old son was the one who called 911 to report what had happened. "I just got up and my parents are on the floor," says the oldest of the four children. "My sister said they don't wake up. They are not breathing… They are very cold”.

According to the Centerville officer, John Davis this death is a symbol of the growing problem of addiction to this substance in America. “It doesn't matter how much you earn or where you live or study. It crosses all the limits and that is the most frustrating thing”.

The data on the case has been leaking little by little. One of them has to do with the mother of the deceased, Nancy Case. The woman contacted the local police, fearing that her daughter would commit suicide due to a conversation they both had before everything happened. The mother said her daughter had been hooked on drugs for the past seven years, according to The Dayton Daily News newspaper.

The woman had a history of mental instability and various situations at home that demonstrated her addiction to this substance. For her part, Brian, husband and also deceased, was a pilot for the Spirit airline whose last flight was on March 10.

The company has released a statement in which it ensures that its pilots and other members are tested to rule out the intake of drugs and alcohol. At the moment we will have to wait for the official results.
