Happy, grateful and happy. This is how the protagonist of Ringo, José Ron, feels in relation to his romance with the young Mexican actress and singer Jessica Díaz, with whom he is giving himself an opportunity in love after several failed couple relationships. In an exclusive interview with People en Español, the renowned Mexican actor speaks for the first time of this courtship and the suspension of the recordings of the soap opera that he was recording in Mexico, I give you life, and that Univision will premiere on Monday, April 13 at 8 pm Eastern time.

You already confirmed your courtship with Jessica Díaz …

We are dating and I am very happy, very grateful, happy and eager to also make her very happy, to share dreams, to share so many things and that we can become a team and accomplices also in this.

The recordings of I Give You Life were suspended in Mexico due to the coronavirus…

Yes, we are no longer recording. It took us a little while to stop the recordings, always with the necessary measures, but fortunately we are all isolated with our families and wishing that this also happens as soon as possible for the good of all.

Are you concerned about the current situation in the world?

What worries me is the number of people who have lost loved ones and people who live daily and have been left without work, without that income to bring food to their homes. These are complicated times where we must also value and open this channel of being able to help people who need it, not being oblivious to what the front line lives. For my part, I put my grain of sand or do what is in my hands, but yes, what hurts me, what hurts me is all those people who find it difficult to bring food to their homes. That's sad.

You have not stopped starring in soap operas in recent years, how do you see yourself professionally in a decade, for example? Do you still see yourself on Televisa?

In 10 years I see myself doing what I like. I don't know if he keeps making novels or if he continues on Televisa. I do not know. 10 years I think there are many. I just see myself doing what I like and focusing also on my personal part, on my family. With Televisa I am very grateful, too. I have practically half of my life in Mexico City working for them. They have given me a lot and I have nothing but gratitude. What happens later we will know. I do not know what will happen, I do not know what is coming, I simply try to fulfill my dreams, my goals and do what makes me happy every day. I think that is the important thing and to continue doing things with a lot of heart.

And on a personal level? How do you imagine José Ron from 2030?

On a personal level, with my family, I should (laughs). God first so be it.

Ringo or Pedro de Te I give you life, with which character do you feel most identified?

It is a very complicated question. They have both been great characters for me, just like the stories. They have demanded me differently, but both have demanded a lot of me and have taken me out of this comfort zone. The stories have also helped me to take risks, to make sacrifices, to that extra that must be put on; for example in Ringo with everything physical, the rhythm of work, the emotional and in I give you life is a very emotional story so as an actor I have had to be fully sensitive to the subject, for everything that has touched record, interpret, by history. They are different, but if I have to choose I think it would be Pedro.
