Since she began her career at the tender age of 13, Eiza González has adopted many different roles: in youth novels Lola starred: Once upon a time, to evolve into a more mature role in Murderous Women; The beloved children's program even participated in Plaza Sésamo. Upon landing in Hollywood, the Mexico City-born began taking on roles ranging from comedy (Baby Driver) to more elaborate and surprising stories like Welcome to Marwen.

But it has been her action movies that have placed her at the top in leading roles that have led her to share the bill with Vin Diesel, Jason Statham and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, pillars of current action cinema. Examples? Alita: Battle Angel and Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw.

In Bloodshot, her new film that opens this Friday the 13th across the country, the beautiful Eiza allows herself to play a tough woman, but at the same time extremely feminine. His role is incorporated into a plot where Ray Garrison -the main character, played by the aforementioned Vin Diesel- falls into the hands of a soldier who is killed and then revived with superpowers. The film is based on the adventures of the character of the same name from Valiant Comics.

"Kiki is this ex-soldier woman who had a second chance in life [when] she gets new lungs. They are testing a certain technology on human beings … it is a bit of a romantic tragedy," she reveals exclusively to People en Español.

"[My character] has exceptional strength but also the character has a lot of heart … she was not like the typical damsel in danger or the malota [but] both and all the decisions she makes are based on empathy and honest love. The character It seems to me as deep enough for a female character in an action movie, "he continues.

"I think the difference from other projects I had had is that I had the opportunity to show more what I could do. And although it seems that the character [is] a bit harsh from the trailers, he is a very emotional character," he says. "I think there is a perception of mine, especially since I have been in several action movies as very hard and bad … bastard."

The reason why an actor can be pigeonholed sometimes is not by his own choice, as she explains it: "Sometimes as projects come out, that is out of your control and this character had like both: [what] that for I am the contemporary woman. That strength and that example of my character but also that softness. There is no need to lose sensuality … when a woman is strong."

The fun of recording this tape, where we will also see the aforementioned Vin Diesel and Guy Pierce, was that Eiza was able to put into practice what she loves: martial arts. "You always learn new things. You realize what you are physically capable of. I learned to breathe underwater. To be able to do jiu jitsu underwater. I lost him as quite afraid of that."

Bloodshot (1 hour 49 minutes long) opens this Friday the 13th in national cinemas.
