With just four days to go until Christmas, Queen Elizabeth set out yesterday by train to her Sandringham residence to spend these endearing dates there in Norfolk County.

News came to tarnish this special day that gives way to her Christmas holidays: her husband, Prince Felipe, was admitted to the hospital at the age of 98.

Given the general alarm among the media when the fact was known, Buckingham Palace issued a statement in which it assured that the prince's admission to a London hospital was not for a serious reason.

“The Duke of Edinburgh traveled from Norfolk to King Edward VII Hospital in London for a few days of observation and treatment for a pre-existing condition. Admission is a precautionary measure on the advice of His Royal Highness personal doctor,”said a spokeswoman for Queen Elizabeth.

Although the exact cause of the prince's discomfort is not known, we do know that he entered the hospital on his own feet and that the queen, for the moment, did not change his plans at all, something that indicates that it can truly be a minor ailment.

The day before, Elizabeth II's husband was at his residence in the English countryside, where he spends most of his time since he retired from public life in August 2017.
