"Before, I was more emotional, now I am more pragmatic," González told the Mexican newspaper El Universal. “I have gotten to where I am because nobody has helped me and nobody has given me anything; When I arrived in Los Angeles I started in a small room and now I have a house, and within all the love-hate that my country has for me, I feel blessed.”

"Before, I was angry at the hatred they had for me, but now I am happy, more grateful," she added. “I see it differently; I know that sometimes, even though they say they hate me, deep down they are proud of me.”
