It is the moment of the transgressive campaigns. In recent years, we have witnessed a radical change in the way brands display their clothing: models with cellulite and no retouching or makeup, transgender models, the normalization of plus sizes and greater racial inclusion. Although there is still a lot to do, these initiatives are appreciated, as more and more people are represented in their campaigns.
However, the latest Diesel campaign draws attention to a trend with which sadly many will feel identified: cyber bullying or online harassment. He has also had celebrities such as Nicki Minaj, Bella Thorne or Gucci Mane. Read on to see the result.
The Italian brand has presented its Haute Couture collection, in which these celebrities have shared some of the worst insults they have received on social networks and have expressed them in the form of graffiti or collage on Diesel t-shirts and sweatshirts.
Gucci Mane's design says "F ** ck you, imposter", Nicki Minaj's "The Bad Guy" and Bella Thorne's "Zorra". The idea of the campaign is to combat the hate messages you receive by laughing at them or neutralizing them by force of exposing them. "We wanted to achieve that controversial irony," explained the founder of the Renzo Rosso brand to the Business of Fashion portal.
In addition, part of the benefits of these garments will go to projects, campaigns and anti bullying organizations.
