When a product is recommended by the hairdresser of Kim Kardashian and Jennifer López, you have to try it. In the August issue of People en español, Chris Appleton recommended Color Wow's Dream Coat spray as one of his must-haves and we needed to corroborate in first person if the secret to getting a mane like Kim's could also be within our reach.
Last week I was lucky enough to be a guinea pig in the Serge Normant at John Frieda salon in New York to try the miracle product from Joseph Maine, celebrity stylist and creative director for Color Wow. Do not miss the before and after!
My hair was the perfect subject for this experiment since at the moment I am wearing it very long (the longest I have ever had it in my life), quite curly, very dry, as you can see in the image, and frizzy.
"I take small sections and distribute a lot of product in each wick," the expert explained to me about the application you can do at home. "Even if you put a lot of it, it will not be heavy or greasy, it is very light and it is important that you put a lot of product to eliminate frizz, you have to make sure that all the hair is covered from roots to ends".
As Maine explained to me, this Dream Coat also works as a treatment. "After two washes you will still notice the results, hold on like three washes."
The line is made up of a version for all hair types and another, the newest, specifically for curly hair. This second one is not so much about eliminating moisture but rather enhancing the curl and providing more hydration and shine to the hair. The product includes heat protectors in its formula, but it is not necessary to dry your hair with a hairdryer or diffuser to notice the effects.
"It doesn't leave your hair with a crisp effect, it's going to leave you loose and moving curls," says Maines.
In my experiment I tried the version for all hair types, with which the best results are appreciated when you dry your hair with a hairdryer, which you can get by. As a conclusion, I will say that before I used to straighten my hair practically every week, many times at home and a few others in beauty salons, but I can honestly say that I have never been so extremely smooth and shiny.
I felt like a Kardashian for three days! In a good way.
