Finding options to correct dentures as an adult can be difficult with the wealth of information and commercials available on the subject. However, the ideal option will depend on the preferences and needs of each person. One of the most modern options to perfect the smile are the invisible aligners, an alternative to metal orthodontic appliances for adults and adolescents.

Hoping to achieve the smile of my dreams, I decided to try the Invisalign clear aligners.

They are invisible

A large number of adults in the United States say that the first thing they notice in people is the smile. For this reason, many people never prefer wearing orthodontic appliances, as they feel unsure of others noticing the braces and not them. When I have a big dinner or want to take a selfie, I love that my aligners are invisible and that I can quickly take them off if I need to.

Your dentist will become a familiar face

There are many people who do not like going to the dentist - me being one of them - as they relate it to pain or bad news about their teeth. Although it is not one of my favorite visits, I appreciate that having these aligners forces me to go since it is important to maintain oral hygiene. I noticed a positive change in the way I care for my gums and teeth since I started using Invisalign. On the other hand, it is important to find a dentist who also cares about the health of your teeth and not just the end result. When I decided on this treatment, I did a lot of research and found Cascada Dental in New York, who are giving me the perfect experience.

You don't have to wait long to see changes

My favorite part was how quickly I saw a change in my smile. I didn't have to wait long to see my teeth start to look better.

All up to you

For me, the most difficult part of using an invisible device is the commitment that comes with it. It's so easy to take it off that you risk forgetting to put it back on and even losing it. You have to be aware of wearing it and letting it do its job.

Get over the pain

As they say: without pain nothing is gained. It does hurt and some weeks are more painful than others. However, pain is felt with all orthodontic appliance options, not just invisible ones. The painkillers helped me but I always kept in mind that the pain meant that the treatment was working.

Goodbye to snacks …

Since you have to have aligners in your mouth during most hours of the day, that means you can't eat as freely. This can be tricky for someone who loves to eat snacks or multiple times a day, but ideal for someone who watches what they eat. For me, it was easier to commit to a diet, since I did not have as much freedom for snacks.
