Halloween is coming and it's time to choose the costume we will wear that night as well as the makeup that will accompany it. Whether you decide to become the popular Wonder Woman, a glamorous zombie, or an evil witch, how you put on your face will be key to making your costume look more truthful than ever. We talked with the Argentine makeup artist Mariela Bagnato who gave us five tips so you can get it.
What should we take into account when preparing to make a Halloween makeup?
Halloween is for fun! I think the most important thing is to keep that in mind. We are not going to do makeup that we usually do, so the idea is to break the rules and have fun. The other thing that we must take into account is what look we are going to make, the time to do it without haste and the products necessary to achieve it.
What are the essential products you must have to make a good Halloween makeup?
Fantasy makeup is based on color contrasts, that is, greater definition and drama. For that I like to use more contrasting products and play with light and shadow. To create more definition on the face, contour is essential! My favorite products for this are concealers, powders, and highlighters.
3D Highlighter Palette from HUDA Beauty. Corrector, from TIGI. Ben Nye Banana Powder.
The Original Contour Kit contour palette by Anastasia Beverly Hills.
Could you recommend two Halloween makeups that are easy to make and don't take that long?
Some of my favorites are those that we can transform with products that we have at home. I choose these looks because I made them myself for Halloween. They are fast and do not require as much technique. The first is that of Pop Art with striking shadows, liquid eyeliner and eyeliner in white pencil we can achieve it. The second is from Vampire. Well pale skin, defined eyes, artificial blood and your Haloween makeup will be solved.
What products that we already have in our dressing table can be used for a Halloween makeup?
Everything serves us! It is only a matter of giving it a twist and using them with more precision and definition. In the eyes the lines also play a super important role. My best allies are eyeliners since I can trace, create and redraw much easier. They are the ones you will use the most!
Rollerwheel Liquid Liner from MAC. NYX Color Felt Tip Liner.
What is the best way to remove Halloween makeup? Do you have any particular tip?
This is a very important question. Since makeup tends to be much heavier it is very important to remove it in the correct way. I like to start with makeup remover wipes, my favorites are Neutrogena's. Then a deeper makeup remover will help you remove the most resistant, I like to use. But it didn't end there! A cleansing gel before finishing makes me feel like I can really remove all my makeup.
