After collaborating with brands like Chanel and Louis Vuitton, rapper, producer, and designer Pharrell Williams once again lends his creative talents to a clothing brand in his latest Adidas Tennis Collection, which the sportswear giant has released just to time for the US Open tennis tournament that takes place these days in New York.
Among the elite tennis players who have already released their designs is the Spanish Garbiñe Muguruza and, as can be seen in the campaign and in the models that the Wimbledon winner wore in the presentation of the collection, all the pieces have a marked air retro and presented in white, blue, red and yellow.
The rapper has been inspired by tennis icons from the 70s such as Björn Borg and John McEnroe to create a collection with clear reminiscences of that time in terms of style, but the latest technology in terms of design and materials.
The collection ranges from sweatshirts and jackets to sports bras, leggings and wristbands, and prices range from $ 40 to $ 400. It is now available on the adidas website.
Another designer who has jumped on the track has been the Italian Riccardo Tisci, former creative director of Givenchy, who has designed for Nike the sports outfit with which the Russian tennis player Maria Sharapova has won again in a Grand Slam, after 15 months of sanction by doping.
The black top with transparencies and lace and the matching skirt with Swarovski crystals has made more headlines than the victory of the player against her rival, the Romanian Simona Halep.
