When talking about Barbie, a super skinny doll with silky hair and long legs came to mind. However, that has changed. The company Mattel, in charge of creating the famous toy, did not want to be left behind and last year the iconic doll received a makeover as part of the #TheDollsEvolve campaign through which they launched barbies of different statures, with pronounced curves and even with different hair textures. With this initiative the company seeks to have more inclusion in its products.
That is why they have now decided to include in that change the also famous Ken, the inseparable companion of the Barbie. The company announced that it is expanding its Fashionistas collection with the introduction of 15 brand new dolls.
They come in three body types, seven different skin tones, eight hair colors, nine hairstyles and supermodern looks, totally different from the dolls we are used to seeing.
"By expanding our product line we are redefining what a Barbie or Ken looks like for this generation," Lisa McKnight, Barbie vice president and general manager, said in a statement. "Evolving Ken came naturally to the brand and allows girls to customize the roll they want the roll to play in the Barbie world."
This is the largest Ken collection the brand has released since they released the doll in 1961.
New and modern curvy Barbies, different skin tones and eye-catching hairstyles also arrived in this collection. Each of them perfect for your new partner.
