Anna Wintour is the most powerful woman in the fashion world and therefore she is highly respected in all areas of the industry as well as in show business. Her fame and prestige led her to meet Queen Elizabeth herself who honored her with the title of Lady of the British Empire. "The queen couldn't find a place to put the pin on my clothes," joked the editor-in-chief of Vogue magazine in the United States.
This title was presented to Wintour in recognition of her contribution to the world of fashion since she served as editor at the prestigious magazine in 1988.
The editor came to the meeting accompanied by her daughter Bee Shaffer. She was dressed in a pastel pink Chanel dress, an elegant coat from the same brand, and cream-colored sneakers by renowned designer Manolo Blahnik. As usual, sunglasses were not lacking, fortunately, she took them off just before entering the room where the queen was waiting for her.
Wintour, who also serves as the head of the MET gala, was born in London and began her career in the United States in 1975 when she became the fashion editor for Harper's Bazaar magazine. It was in 1988 when she was named editor in chief of Vogue, -the world's leading fashion magazine. Since then it has become the most respected voice in the industry.
Thanks to her talent and dedication, in 2013 she was appointed artistic director of Condé Nast, a position created especially for her.
