How to start a business related to fashion and beauty was the theme of the “Business in fashion” panel that took place last weekend at the Powerful Live! in Miami, which was attended by celebrity stylist Irma Martínez, actress Elizabeth Gutiérrez and presenter Giselle Blondet.
The panel, moderated by our Fashion and Beauty director of People en Español, Úrsula Carranza, aimed to find the keys that every woman should know when setting up a company through the experience of the famous panelists.
"In the beginning it was difficult because the doors were closed to me," said Martínez, who today not only dresses celebrities but is the spokesperson for several advertising campaigns, owner of the photography studio Trendy Inc. and has just released the book El manual del stylist. "Thanks to my perseverance, when you have an idea and it is yours and it is 24 hours a day, little by little the recognition came and Trendy Inc was born."
Gutiérrez was excited to be able to share with the public what will be her debut as an entrepreneur this October with a new line of skin care products.
It all started as a dream. I wanted to do something within what I like and I like to look good and they always asked me what I was wearing,”said the actress, for whom maintaining the balance between work and family is a priority.
"I wanted something that would allow me to be with my children full time, without ceasing to be me, with my own goals, so seeing that this is almost about to come out makes me very excited," he added.
For Blondet, who in addition to producing and acting in a play in Puerto Rico has a jewelry collection, an underwear collection and a bedding collection at Walmart, the most important thing is to listen to instinct when undertaking a new business adventure.
“You have to learn, know how to listen, surround yourself with people. I said to myself: “I have the opportunity to do something that I like and enter the world of design and create my line and I can do something that is beautiful, of quality and accessible, '” said the Puerto Rican. "You have to visualize the business, get answers to each of your questions and start moving that energy towards it."
