Oscar de la Renta's legacy lives on thanks to the memorable designs he left behind and the designs that his fashion house continues to create in each collection he has presented since the death of the Dominican artist. The 2017 spring collection show, during New York Fashion Week, demonstrated that this is a brand that will continue to be among the favorites of celebrities and high society fashionistas.
In the collection, where white color reigned in fresh, feminine and modern silhouettes, we also saw flirty red dresses with flights, black pieces and original prints, as well as striking gold garments.
The makeup worn by the models was supernatural, revealing highly hydrated skin, using only concealer to cover the imperfections.
"Moisturizer is very important to me [and the] concealer," explains makeup artist Tom Pecheux of the look he created for the show with MAC products and which was inspired by a young and free woman. “If you have beautiful skin, why do you cover it with a base? You have no need for that. You can simply cover the blemishes. This look complements the collection because it is a continuation of the elegance of Oscar de la Renta”.
In order for the clothes to be the protagonist of this presentation, the stylist Orlando Pita also opted for a very simple but elegant hairstyle with the help of the TRESemmé products, basically leaving the girls' hair completely straight, with the exception of some who wore their natural hair.
“The hair is parted in half, straight and silky. We applied a mousse for the volume, the Keratin Smooth Crème and we put the hair behind the ears and then we applied the Keratin Smooth Hairspray, said the expert.. “We are doing beautiful hair, in beautiful girls with beautiful clothes. There really is no definite concept. We are making a hair that goes with any collection. It is a style that can be worn with casual clothes or with an Oscar de la Renta suit.”
