Emilio Sosa is a Latino responsible for the design and creation of the costumes worn by the dancers known as The Rockettes.

Raised in New York, but of Dominican blood, Sosa is passionate about his work. "Working with The Rockettes is a dream," says Sosa. "They are professional women, they are dancers and they work very hard."

Dressing the stars of this great show is not just anything, it cannot even be compared to the world of fashion. “When I design for the dance it is very different than for the street, because they have to move and the design has to be part of the entire show. It is nothing more than I want to design some beautiful pieces, the design has to work with the movement”, explains the New Yorker.

To reach the final result that is shown on the stage of Radio City Music Hall, Sosa follows a meticulous process that includes up to 100 drawings of a single dress, for its creation.

One of the things he has developed over the time he has been working with The Rockettes is a special "eye to sequins" education. "You want the audience to have an experience, and as a designer I can help or take away from the experience."

Sosa assures that he knows what type of sequin gives him the reflection he is looking for, be it a diamond or simply the light.
