Nine choreographers and dozens of dancers from different countries prepare to delight New Yorkers tomorrow in Bountiful: A teacher's Journey.
The choreographer festival created by Luis Salgado, founder of the R. Evolución Latina organization, is an international dance show that aims to take every choreographer, dancer and audience member on a journey of self-knowledge through the history of Santiago, a school teacher who is looking for answers and who discovers in this way the abundance of the human spirit.
“Bountiful was created by Luis, who is now acting on On Your Feet, and the script was inspired by conversations with the nine choreographers. The idea was developed five years ago. It opened doors for many artists and created an incredible cultural exchange,”choreographer Matthew Steffens, who plays Santiago in the play and who has participated in plays such as West Side Story and Beauty & The Beast, said in a statement. “The work that this organization does goes beyond words and I hope that the public will feel the passion of these artists who live in this city, the dreams of those who have come to be part of all this and the incredible hearts, wishes and dreams we all share”.
Bountiful will be performing in New York from April 27 to May 1 at the Manhattan Movement + Arts Center (248 West 60th Street, NYC) and features different types of dances, musical fusions, and the talent of young Latinos who want tell a story, show their cultures and leave their hearts to do so.
