Only 4 out of 10 girls with curly hair think their hair is pretty. And only 10% of women with this type of hair are proud of their curls.
With these data, the Dove brand launched the “Love your curls” campaign at the beginning of the year, to encourage curly-haired women to feel good about themselves and to inspire younger generations.

As a result of the campaign, thousands of women decided to share their stories, photos and messages via the internet. A reaction, which has been translated into the book "Love your curls" written by Taiye Selasi and illustrated by Annick Poirier.

"I can identify with these young women with curly hair, growing up and feeling that society did not find my hair beautiful," Selasi explains to People en Español. “Dove Hair received thousands of stories, photos, and messages from real women celebrating, and sharing their feelings about what it's like to have curly hair. Indeed, it was an honor to use these stories as inspiration for a book of poems intended to inspire future generations of curly girls.”
The book, which also contains a poem in Spanish entitled "Honeyilocks" is available for free download in digital format at dove.com and you can personalize it with a dedication, a poem and a portrait of the person you want to give the poetry to..
