A mother set a record in New York after giving birth to a 15-pound baby.

Joy Buckley gave birth Tuesday in Corning, New York, to Harper Buckley, a healthy baby girl who weighed 15 pounds and 5 ounces.

But childbirth was far from being an easy task.

"I felt like I had been hit by two trailers," Joy told The New York Post Monday. "It was quite violent. [The baby] got stuck under my rib cage. I knew it was going to be big, but I didn't anticipate any 15-pound baby.”

Newborn Harper Buckley has been the largest baby born at Arnot Ogden Medical Center, WETM reported, citing records dating back 30 years.

Harper was taken to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit after her birth for a checkup and for doctors to check her blood sugar and oxygen levels.

Little Harper was a miracle baby since her mom had been told they had a less than 15 percent chance of getting pregnant.

The couple tried to get pregnant for seven years before giving up and deciding to adopt a child. Then in May 2016, Joy found out she was pregnant and gave birth to an 11-pound boy.

"What I always wanted to do in my life was to be a mom," Joy told the WETM news station.
