Lili Estefan Responds To Criticism About Her Interview With Her Daughter

Lili Estefan has surely already lost count of all the celebrities she has been able to interview throughout her long and successful artistic career in the media. But, probably, none of those interviews was as special to her as the one she did this Wednesday to her 15-year-old daughter Lina for the show El gordo y la flaca (Univision).

For the first time, mother and daughter sat down to talk in front of the television cameras and, although at first the teenager had been reluctant to participate since, according to Lili, "it is very painful", finally both ended up starring in a nice conversation that moved the viewer.

As expected, the reactions on social networks were immediate and, although most of the comments received were positive, there was no lack of criticism.

Far from being upset, Lili took the time to respond to each one of them in the most kind and respectful way.

Why did you interview your daughter?

"I think the pride you feel towards your daughter is nice, but it's a show program, what's the point of interviewing her?" Asked one of her followers.

“We are promoting Pequeños Gigantes, it is a talented children's show and since Lina has danced ballet since she was a child, Univision asked me to interview my daughter to promote the program. That's it. It took me a lot to convince her but we did it so she can have it as a souvenir, Lili replied.

Your daughter's Spanish

Another of the most talked about topics in networks was the Spanish of the teenager since she does not speak it too fluently, according to some people. To which Emilio Estefan's niece replied: "I am happy to see her speak so much Spanish, although I would like her to speak it more fluently, but she speaks it, she speaks it."

Too erect and serious

The networks also placed special emphasis on the body posture of the teenager, who looked very erect, as well as the expression of the face since she did not seem to smile much.
