In addition to Imperio de mentiras, whose recordings began this week in Mexico with Angelique Boyer and Andrés Palacios as protagonists, Televisa cooks a new soap opera that promises to give something to talk about. This is La mexicana y el güero, a classic melodrama with comedy overtones that will have as a leading triangle Itatí Cantoral, Juan Soler and Luis Roberto Guzmán, who returns to television 6 years after the end of What Life Stole From Me.
In this soap opera produced by Nicandro Díaz Itatí, he will play Andrea, a woman planning a master coup; Juan will be Tyler Somers, a pure and honest man dedicated to agricultural work; while Luis Roberto will give life to René, a shrewd, seductive and skillful man in business.
"It is a soap opera where a Mexican woman falls in love with the vicissitudes of the fate of a man who was born in the United States but who grew up all her childhood with pure Mexican," Soler told days ago in an interview for the Tlnovelas channel.
This will be the second soap opera in which Itatí and Juan will work together since almost 20 years ago they shared some scenes in the melodrama Sin conceived.
“Itatí has an enviable career for many of the actresses in Mexico and I know that she will put her professionalism at the service of this story. I really want to work with her”, acknowledged the actor of Argentine origin in another interview for Televisa Espectáculos.
The soap opera will feature the participation of the first Mexican actress Jacqueline Andere, who has left her mark on successful melodramas such as Soy tu dueña and La madrastra, among others.

Other actors who are confirmed to be part of the cast of this project are Julio Camejo, Iran Castillo, Eleazar Gómez, Jackie Sauza and Nora Salinas, among others.

The Mexican and the güero will start recording on March 30 and will have locations in Mexico City, Guadalajara and Canada.
The premiere of the fiction is scheduled for the second half of 2020.
