The Mexican melodrama returns to command in Hispanic prime time with the recent arrival of Ringo, the Televisa soap opera that Univision premiered last Monday, December 2 at 8 pm Eastern time.

The fiction starring José Ron with Mariana Torres debuted through the front door after averaging 1,698,000 total viewers (P2 +) and 685,000 adults 18-49 years old.

The melodrama produced by Lucero Suárez that also features performances by César Évora, Jorge Poza, Otto Sirgo, Gabriela Carrillo, Alfredo Gatica and Arturo Carmona, among other actors, comfortably led its broadcast time slot in front of the premiere of the Turkish soap opera El Sultan (Telemundo), its most direct competitor, who barely managed to seduce 781 thousand viewers (P2 +) and 257 thousand adults 18-49 years old, according to Nielsen data released by PRODU.

Univision thus began December leading all primetime slots among total viewers (P2 +), with its Turkish soap opera Amor eterno, broadcasting at 7 pm EST with Burak Özçivit and Neslihan Atagü l as the leading couple, the most viewed fiction of the Hispanic prime time.

Ringo, the fight of his life tells the story of a man who has dedicated his life to boxing and at the height of his career loses the national title when he receives the news of the death of his brother. From that moment on, Ringo decides to retire from boxing. Gloria, his wife, leaves him to go live with El Turco, Ringo's main rival in the ring. Gloria's decision leaves Ringo alone in charge of the care of his son Santi.

Years later, Gloria will return to claim custody of her son, and in this situation, Ringo will have to obtain a job that provides him with a fixed income, to retain custody of his son. Therefore, he decides to box again with the clear goal of being crowned champion.

"I would describe it as a novel of many values for the message it has, for the part of the father who is dedicated to giving the best to his son, the sacrifices [he has to do]. It is a novel that people can identify with. I think they are going to have fun because it has practically everything,”said its protagonist days ago in an exclusive interview with People en Español.
