Shakira And Anuel AA Release New Song "Like"

Shakira and Anuel AA surprised and thrilled fans with a new song released late Sunday night. The Colombian pop-rock queen and the Puerto Rican trap star join forces in “Me Gusta.” The reggaeton-influenced song talks about a romance that has lost its initial magic, with Shakira complaining about feeling used and neglected and her lover not trying hard enough. Anuel argues that perfect love stories exist only in soap operas, but still says he doesn't want to lose her.

This is the first time the two artists have recorded together, although each have had plenty of hit collaborations with other musicians in the past. Shakira has joined forces with Maluma, Prince Royce, Rihanna, Beyoncé, Maná, and Pitbull, while Anuel has worked with Ozuna, Romeo Santos, Daddy Yankee, J Balvin, and his future wife, Karol G.

Karol G must be thrilled with “Me Gusta,” since she has expressed her admiration for fellow Colombian star Shakira in the past, admitting that the “Hips Don't Lie” singer is one of her idols.

When Mezcal TV asked Karol G who she looked up to as a performer, she replied, “I have the biggest reference in my own country. We have Shakira, who has broken down every barrier in terms of language, stigma, everything. She is a woman who has had three official World Cup songs, who has been featured in movies, in series - you can really say she has had the most memorable career around the world. We will all remember Shakira forever and that's what I want people to see in Karol G.”
