Sorry ladies and gents, but the headline is true: Prince Royce and Emeraude Toubia are officially off the market!

The love birds shared with People en Español exclusive photos and commentary on their intimate ceremony, which took place in the beautiful city of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.

How did the nuptials first become real? Though they'd discussed marriage, the “Stand By Me” singer, now 29, preplanned his proposal and - with some solid team work - caught the Shadowhunters actress when she least expected it. As he describes it, “You know how Univision does photos, Grammy photos? So I said, like, Oh, Univision online is gonna do a caricature of every artist type of thing, so we should do it before,”said Royce. His now-wife thought it was a good idea - they could take a few photos together as well. The couple normally aren't touchy-feely in public, but at that moment, Toubia noticed something different: “The cameras were on, Royce was being super affectionate and kissing me. And I was like, This is Univision, remember, we don't want to be too on top of each other.”

It wasn't until she received the illustration that she had to do a double-take: “It was a drawing in a thinking bubble. In the thinking bubble were the words 'Will You Marry Me?'”

“I looked at this picture, I looked at Royce, and wait, I want to make sure I'm not reading this wrong, and I looked at the picture again and [then] saw Royce on his knees [he laughs] and I was like, that is, I had no idea it was happening,”says Toubia, now 30.“It was the most beautiful thing for me, the fact that he was able to surprise me.”

After eight years of dating, the long-time loves made it official in a civil ceremony held on November 30, with the church ceremony taking place the following Saturday. They flew 108 loved ones in and rented three houses up on the hill of San Miguel De Allende for five days of festivities.

Why San Miguel, Mexico, and not, say, the Dominican Republic, where he has roots and relatives? A gentle push for them to get away from it all. “The thing is, my family, like, if you leave it up to them, they'll never leave New York or the Dominican Republic. For real, for my family, this was like the first time for most of them leaving like the country, so for them it was kind of like forcing everyone to go out and come to a new place,”said the singer. It was just as important for the bride, as she wanted her then-fiancé's family members to meet the heart of Mexico.

The day of the civil marriage, the guests ate authentic tacos upon Toubia's request: “I have my Mexican tradition to the tips of my fingers.” She made sure that the money spent was going to the locals in the city of San Miguel.

The following day was the church ceremony. Traditionally, Catholic hymns and music play during the ceremony, but the betrothed were able to have a quartet play Royce's favorite artist Elvis Presley's “I Can't Help Falling in Love With You.” As the song played, Toubia walked alone down the aisle in a moving tribute to her father, who recently passed away. “I didn't want anyone to take his place…. I wanted to feel like he was there with me. So that's why I decided to walk alone, because in my mind he was there with me.”

When she reached the end of the aisle she recalls how her husband looked at her, “I remember Royce's look when he saw me - his eyes were really watery.”

Royce was nervous at during the second ceremony: “I thought It was a lot of pressure, the church thing. When we did the civil stuff, it was really cool, really easy, the church thing was [laughs] I don't know, you know… I was a monaguillo [altar server]. It was, I felt a lot of pressure.”

And what about the climactic moment after announcing the brand new husband and wife? The two were a bit surprised when the priest didn't announce the famous sentence they'd always seen in soap operas and movies: “He never said, 'Now you can kiss the bride [you may kiss the bride]. I told him father [I said, father]… there is still other stuff to do. You haven't said we can kiss each other. And he was like, You can do whatever you want, “says Toubia. "We thought it was gonna be like in the novels, you know what I mean? … That was weird," said Royce. Regardless of the awkward ending, Toubia embraced their new status. “The father had left, and I was like, Wooooo! OK, everyone, we're married.”

The goal for the festive weekend was to keep the gathering an intimate and memorable one, but the memories would only be captured by the photographers they hired. The couple was pleased when they noticed no one had an issue about giving away their phones. In fact, "everyone actually felt happy" with the policy. As someone who is always in the spotlight, this meant a lot to Royce. The “no phone” rule allowed him to feel more liberated: “I feel like, for me at least, like who I am on TV is very different to who I am in person. And often, when there is a camera on and I'm doing an interview, I feel like I have to act a certain way, you know. So the fact that it was literally everyone that we knew - we knew every single person there, there was no one person who was extra, a plus one we didn 't know about - the fact that we knew every single person there, we had the confidence. I literally could drink and get blasted and do whatever I wanted to do. We could do anything you know without having the fear of, What if, like, someone take a photo? We could act stupid. It sounds stupid, but it's not."

The young star feels strongly about his privacy, noting that today's culture of uploading everything on Instagram can put too much information about a relationship out there. “There's a quote I read online a while ago that said something like, 'Privacy is power. What people don't know they can't ruin. ' You see all these people, all these relationships. OMG, we met! In a month, they're broken up, and if you don't upload something, people think something is wrong."

As for the first dance? "Versace" by Bruno Mars. "That's the song that Royce played when I've proposed to me, we wanted to link that with our first dance, I love that song," Toubia says.

The romance was mixed with some serious fun. Everyone had props, like cigars and huge-face cutouts of the couple when they were each 5 years old. And the privacy gave Royce the opportunity to fully wild out. When asked what was fed to their guests, Royce answered: "We ate Tequila !!!" But of course, it wasn't your everyday bottle service. "We had a big robot dude come in with shots."

For the reception, Toubia changed from her heart-shaped wedding dress to a long-sleeve mesh dress with Swarovski crystals as her new husband performed his hit “Darte un Beso.” Shockingly the act is a rarity in the couple's time together. “It was the first time I grabbed the mic and serenaded me,” she admitted.

The pair and guests enjoyed a night of laughter and dance, one they won't soon forget (there was even a belly dancer!). Their invitees thanked them by the end of the celebration. Thank you so much for taking our phones. We're always on them, trying to take the pictures instead of living the moment,”says the actress of the general sentiment.

The festivities ended with a Sunday brunch, where the newlyweds had the chance to spend more quality time with their close friends and family members - as well as eat cake! The celebration was so raucous that they forgot to cut the cake the night before!
