A few days ago, Enrique Guzmán revealed that the Mexican Tax Service (SAT) had frozen his accounts. According to the singer, they have not informed him of the fault he has committed in order to solve it. Now, the Treasury revealed that the singer owes tax money and, therefore, this measure was taken.
"Regarding the information that the taxpayer Enrique Guzmán himself has made public regarding his fiscal situation," the SAT mentioned in a statement that it made public on its Twitter account. "These are debts payable by the taxpayer, in which he has asserted the means of defense available to him over the years, but which have been favorable to the tax authority."
According to the tax authorities, there are no "privileges or exceptions" to make the corresponding tax payments; therefore, when there is non-compliance, the sanctions established at the legal level in this agency must be carried out. Which were applied to the interpreter of "Your head on my shoulder."
"Due to the above, the SAT is forceful in carrying out the legal procedures established in the fiscal provisions to recover the amount of said debts," he added. "If it did not do it that way, it would imply a disobedience to the mandate of Article 31 of the Constitution, to the detriment of all complied taxpayers.
Despite this, Enrique Guzmán assured that he does not know what the debts he supposedly has.
"To this day I have not received any notification and I have been searching for three months, for all the SATs in Mexico, for someone to tell me what I owe and at what times can I answer what I avoided from my taxes," Guzmán explained to the Mexican program Ventaneando (TV Azteca). “They have not notified me of anything, of any debt; it's the big problem I have."
