The problem that Belinda has been persecuting since 2015 for the payment of her taxes seems to be getting worse.

After exhausting all legal resources available to her in Mexico, the actress and singer will have to pay the taxes she owes, a sum for which the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP) of that country has sued her to recover.

Although there has been much speculation about the amount of money Belinda owes, the exact amount has not been released so far, despite the fact that this week a Mexican federal court refused to protect her in her request that the Attorney General's Office the Republic (PGR) promoted a conciliation between it and the SHCP, according to various local media.

In the ruling, the magistrates of the Collegiate Court pointed out to Belinda Peregrin Schull - the full name of the actress from films like Baywatch and Trolls - that the PGR is not the responsible authority to promote said conciliation.

With this opinion, the interpreter of "I'm sorry" and "Vivir" will be forced to reach a direct agreement with the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit to release the accusation issued against her.

Belinda is not the only celebrity to have faced justice for tax evasion in Mexico. Juan Gabriel, Paquita la del Barrio, Galilea Montijo, Paulina Rubio and Luis Miguel are some of the singers who faced demands for tax evasion and were acquitted after making the corresponding payment.

Others who did have important consequences were Laureano Brizuela in 1992, and Lupita D'Alessio the following year, who had to spend a season in prison for not paying their taxes to the Mexican government.
