A daughter's wedding is always a source of great joy and pride for any father, but it is even more exciting for dad to have the honor of making the outfit that his daughter will wear on one of the most important days of his life. That was what happened to designer Tommy Hilfiger, who not only had to walk with his daughter Ally Hilfiger towards the altar, but also had the privilege of designing the original dress he wore.

At the wedding, which took place last weekend on the paradisiacal private island Mustique, only close friends and the couple's family were present.

"Nothing like marrying your best friend and your soul mate," wrote the girlfriend at the foot of a photo that she uploaded to her Instagram, where she appears with her now husband Steve Hash. "I'm so excited".

Tommy opted to design a fairly straightforward silk suit with V-neckline and straps, but added a bit of drama with a cape-style veil with flowers embroidered on top as well as bottom but royal blue.

"Very happy for my daughter Aly," wrote the designer along with a photo posted on Instagram.

Her father also looked very suitable for the occasion. The designer opted for a cream linen suit, white shirt, a Panama hat and monogrammed loafers.

The couple, who have been in the relationship for seven years, have a daughter who served as the flower girl for the ceremony.
