Queen Letizia Surprises With Her Most Modern Look

The looks of queens and princesses can rarely be described as trendy, modern or risky, but the Queen of Spain is changing the rules of the game. Just a day after Vogue magazine praised her "cool" and "trendsetter" style, Letizia surprised everyone with the hairstyle she chose to attend an event in Madrid last Tuesday.

It was a ponytail of balls, a style very popular among bloggers and youtubers under the name of "Bubble Ponytail", which is achieved by gathering the hair in a high ponytail that is later divided with rubber bands into as many sections as the length of your mane.

Looking closely at Queen Letizia's look, it can also be seen that her stylist -or herself, who knows- covered each rubber with a lock of hair giving a much more sophisticated touch to the hairstyle.

Although it is not at all unusual to see a member of royalty with such a hairstyle, some celebrities such as Olivia Wilde, Adele, Kendall Jenner and Blake Lively have already worn it on the red carpet and were probably inspired by the pigtails that were seen in the Ralph Lauren and Valentino shows several seasons ago.

The queen combined the hairstyle with a dress also with a certain futuristic air, from the latest Nina Ricci collection. In gray and with silver star appliqués, the piece had an uneven cut, shorter at the front and longer at the back. She completed the look with silver sandals from the Spanish firm Magrit.
