The wait is over! Kate Middleton and Prince William welcomed their third child, Kensington Palace reported on their official Twitter account.
"Her Royal Highness, the Duchess of Cambridge, was admitted to St. Mary's Hospital, Paddington, London, early this morning in the first phase of labor," was reported in a first statement that was shared at 3:22 am
In a second message, published at 8:03 am, the palace reported: “The Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to her son at 11:01. The baby weighs 8 pounds 7 ounces. The Duke of Cambridge was present at the delivery.”
The baby's name will be announced in due time, the palace reported.
"The King, Duke of Edinburgh, Prince of Wales, Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry have been informed [about the birth] and are delighted. His Highness and his son are well, "reported Kensington Palace.
It should be noted that the third child of Kate and William will be the fifth in the succession to the UK throne.
