Zuleyka Rivera: For Now, My Only Love Is My Son

Taking a break from soap operas after finishing recording Cosita Linda (Venevisión), Zuleyka Rivera moved to Mexico to dedicate herself fully to the Dancing for a Dream (Televisa) contest.

“It is a huge challenge; it is a new stage in my life. I have never taken dance classes. When I was little my parents always thought I was going to be an athlete and they put me to do any kind of sport. I did everything: swimming, basketball, diving. It requires preparation, sacrifice, aligning if you want to do a good job, she says of her challenge as a contestant. And she admits about rehearsals for the show: “It hasn't been easy these weeks that I've been practicing. My whole body hurts but I am happy and anxious at the same time.”

The beautiful 27-year-old single denies rumors of romance with Cuban-American actor Jason Canela and says that, for now, her only love is her 2-year-old son Sebastián José, the result of her relationship with basketball player José Juan Barea.

“It is a privilege to be a mother. I am very grateful to life for giving me that beautiful opportunity,”says the former Puerto Rican Miss Universe. "Children grow up very fast. I realized how great Sebastian José is already. Every day he is more loving, more loving, imitating everything. I'm enjoying it."

She is also enjoying being single and ensures that the idea of getting married does not take away her sleep. "You can never say 'I won't drink from that water', but I am focused on what I want to do professionally," she says. “It is the pay that life gives me for everything I have done. Right now I am seeing a lot of results. I still have a lot to do and to work”.
