Actor Alan Thicke, best known for his role as Doctor Jason Seaver in the comedy series Growing Pains, has died at the age of 69.
A representative for his son Robin Thicke confirmed the news to People on Tuesday. The same day, the singer spoke to the Los Angeles Times, where he described his father as "the greatest man I ever knew."
In addition, the interpreter confirmed that his father suffered a heart attack while playing hockey with his son Carter on the Picwick Gardens ice rink in Burbank, California.
The vice president of the establishment, Darin Mathewson, told ET how Thicke asked his son to take a photo of him with his cell phone when he was being taken to the hospital. "He said, 'Take a picture, boy … Make sure the backcourt comes out," Mathewson recalled.
