Angela Aguilar Launches Music Production Dedicated To Selena Quintanilla

At just 16 years old, Angela Aguilar continues to take firm steps in the world of music. Her first two productions have been recognized for their quality; her second album even received a nomination in the American Grammys. Now, the singer launches her third musical production as a tribute to singer Selena Quintanilla.

“In my third album I wanted to honor those women who opened doors for them girls like me, to be able to do what I do; to be able to sing, to be able to stand on stage and be the same, men and women,”Aguilar explained to People en Español. “Being able to enjoy good music, but music that has a history; which is one of the things that this new generation doesn't have much of."

The young lady revealed that this new musical adventure emerged as a way to show her appreciation to Selena Quintanilla, who has become an inspiration to her throughout her career.

"I think Selena [Quintanilla] was a woman that I did not pay tribute to on that album [the second] because it was only a mariachi band," he said. “I said 'how am I not paying homage to this great woman that I see every day and learn a lot from her. This album was created to honor this woman who is influencing my life so much”.

Angela Aguilar considers that the Queen of Tex-Mex has encouraged her to play with her voice. I send a letter to the singer's family to inform them of this album that she made "with great respect and love."

"To honor a woman that her music will last until another girl like me continues doing these things [singing]," she added. "I think it is not the only tribute that is going to come out because Selena deserves to be present in our lives because she is very important."

The first single "Bidi Bidi Bom Bom" comes out this Friday and the complete production in January.
