Kika Rocha, a 52-year-old journalist and fashion editor, gives beauty advice to all women over the age of forty. Take note!
What is your secret to look great? First posture. Look at the athletes, dancers, etc., what first comes to mind is that. Whenever I look in the mirror I remember my grandmother saying: "Put your belly in and straighten up." You immediately look taller and slimmer. And without a doubt do a physical activity that you love, not that you force yourself to do.
Do you diet and exercise? Diet and exercise as a discipline or routine of life is something that I have always followed. Everything temporary fails. It is the constancy that works.
In terms of diet, I am now almost vegetarian, due to the hormones in meats and other animal-derived foods that are so enriched with them and so harmful to metabolism.
As for exercise, I grew up in the field climbing trees, climbing mountains, adventure in forests and ravines. As a teenager I became obsessed with the figure and posture of Jane Fonda and look at her at 80 today.
At the age of 12 when the Betamax existed, I bought his first exercise video in which he went out with striped trunks and warmers. Since I was 17 I signed up for a gym and started aerobics and so on. I was a teacher for a long time in gyms and at the University.
I learned yoga from watching my grandmother, who is 102 years old today. I remember seeing her stand on her head from a young age and want to imitate her. She taught me and I practiced at home for hours on a mat and without a wall. I love doing it still.
Do you think that inner peace is also demonstrated in your body?
Maybe happiness and the will to live. A young heart requires an active body that allows you to walk to walk paths, pursue goals and dreams.
What advice would you give to women your age who want to start a career or do a business?
Overcoming fear, leaving the comfort zone and believing that you have something to offer that others want to acquire or learn from you is perhaps the most difficult thing to achieve. It takes security, self-esteem, discipline, and of course having financial savings or investment support to get started. And of course the encouragement and love of your closest loved ones. Family and friends. Without them there is nothing.
