With Hispanic Heritage Month as a frame, Sports Illustrated magazine released its list of "The 30 Most Influential Hispanics in Sports" in the United States who are not active athletes.

According to the publication, these 30 men and women have contributed to transforming the world of professional sports from their current responsibilities, whether at the helm of a sponsoring company, acquiring ownership of professional teams or expanding diversity among television commentators.

"This list, which has not been compiled according to a ranking of importance, measures influence according to how much each one of those people impacts how fans enjoy the sport," the publication explained. "These familiar names not only offer a diverse perspective, they also enrich the American sports landscape."

Among those selected are recognized retired stars such as ex-baseball player Alex Rodríguez, sports commentators such as Andrés Cantor and executives unknown to the public such as Esther García, the Heineken vice president responsible for beer sponsoring the Champions League.

Below we highlight some of the members of the list, which can be found in full in Sports Illustrated.
