A year has passed since the Venezuelan singer Karina shared her experience with the transition of her transgender daughter Hannah, then 11 years old, whose name is now Xander and her identity is that of a 12-year-old boy.
Regardless of the criticism they would face, the singer and the young man openly spoke about the support that the artist gives to the sex change of her offspring and how her family handled the situation.
This Sunday, Karina celebrated Xander's 12th birthday with a cute image on Instagram kissing the young man on the cheek.
"Happy Birthday my beloved child. You are the Force, the courage, the bravery, you are the mission, the reason, the teacher and the learning”, he wrote at the bottom of the photo. “You are my challenge and my pride, my beloved Child. Your happiness is mine … I love you my Xander … # 12years old."
Despite being a moving snapshot of mother and son, the image has generated a revival of controversy among those who do not see with favor the process that the child has gone through.
