Televisa seems like a ghost town these days. The coronavirus crisis has considerably reduced the frenetic activity that its facilities normally harbor, especially after two cases of contagion within the company were confirmed on Tuesday. "It's like there are no people, it's empty," acknowledged during a recent live broadcast Angelique Boyer, whose soap opera is still being recorded on Televisa San Ángel. It's not the only one. The new melodrama of the producer Lucero Suárez, I give you life, has not suspended his work days, but he has taken extreme precautions, so much so that the presentation of the soap opera scheduled for Wednesday was canceled.

"We are very aware that we have to be very responsible for this coming virus and we are taking all the measures we can to avoid contagions," explains Suárez in a telephone interview with People en Español. Some measures that, according to the Mexican producer, include continuous hand washing and the elimination of physical contact.

"We are following all the rules that are needed to avoid infections," he says.

But what happens with the scenes that require kisses between their actors?

"They are avoided as far as possible," he says. "There are scenes that are not so fundamental and we avoid them, but there will be others in which they will have to kiss," she adds. "We are all healthy, so there should not be a contagion and we cannot put a sign on them that says' here the actors kissed but they cannot kiss because of coronavirus, but first of all we will be very sure that everyone is totally healthy"

The producer of successful soap operas like Enamorándome de Ramón makes it clear that the most important thing for the company is not to put the health of its workers at risk, so, she reiterates, all the necessary measures are being taken to avoid contagion.

"The people who don't need to be here in the offices and who can do the work from home are doing homework, so I think Televisa has been very responsible in this situation."
